I drew this with tears in my eyes and my daughter watching Winnie the Pooh on the couch next to me. Liam Conejo Ramos should be sitting on his couch with his parents tonight, too. It’s as if every day’s headlines just keep getting worse, keep stopping me in my tracks.

But this? A five year old? A bunny hat? A legal citizen? A baby used as bait? What is happening. I refuse to stay quiet, but I wish I had more words and more power that could make this nightmare go away. But instead, I have a pen and a platform. And I also have a daughter- who wanted to draw, too, and somehow captured what my brain feels like right now (her drawing is the background in the listing photo) and I’m going to squeeze her tighter and hope that Liam gets to be held and home and safe soon, too, the way all children deserve to be. 💔
